Americans love to be connected. Through our phones, our watches, and emergency pager systems, we live in a world where we are always connected. We ask our children to check in when they arrive somewhere, and in many cases we track our teenagers and college age students on phone tracking apps. And while there may have been a time when emergency pager systems may have only been used by doctors and other medical professionals, this is no longer the case. IT workers, school district superintendents, and many others use paging systems to make sure that they are always easy to contact.
Today’s technology, of course, is not only used for contacting someone who is in another location. We also have many technologies that help communicate to people who are in the same space. Audiovisual installations, for instance, are often used to send messages and communicate presentations to large groups of people in the same room. Sometimes, in fact, these audiovisual systems can be used to communicate necessary information to people throughout an entire building.
What Paging Systems and Audiovisual Technologies Does Your Business Use?
Interestingly enough, in a time when many businesses continue to use cloud computing to back up their important digital information, companies today rely on a number of important technologies. And while it may no longer come as a surprise that 96% of organizations have utilized cloud technology in one form or another, it is sometimes interesting to note the many ways that these same companies use a number of other kinds of technologies.
Voice over Internet Protocol, also called Voip, is a group of technologies and methodologies used for the delivery of voice communications, as well as multimedia sessions over networks like the Internet. This communication technology is so pervasive that the latest research indicates that between the years 2012 and 2020 the worldwide usage of VoIP is expected to generate revenue exceeding $86.20 billion.
Previous predictions indicated that VoIP traffic was forecast to reach 158 petrabytes monthly by the year 2016. This increased use of technology is due in part to the fact that VoIP technology is nearly 40% less expensive than traditional phone systems.
